Your hosts
Steve and Esther Mills were delighted at the opportunity to return to Pemberton, Steve's hometown.
For Steve, a love for the environment was instilled at a very young age, with hours spent exploring Karri Forest, coastal flats and beaches. Steve's knowledge of the area is second to non.
Esther's love affair with the outdoors grew from hiking the trails and mountains of Cape Town, being involved in seabird rescue and adding her young voice to the ceasing of animal experiments in the cosmetic industry.
The couple are continually working towards sustainable practices. Rainwater is used on the property; single use plastic is being phased out and guests are encouraged to recycle waste and food scraps...the latter causing much excitement amongst the chickens.
The Mills family live on-site, along with loyal, rescue pooch, Henry; the alpacas, Faith and Amor; the sheep, Sean, Missy, Baby and Pepe; Boetie, the rooster, and his harem of hens.
On the edge of the forest, on the edge of town.
